Ballot Material Inspection

Any person authorized by Florida Statute 101.572(2) shall be granted reasonable access upon request to review or inspect ballot materials before canvassing or tabulation following the submittal and acceptance of this request.

Who Has Access to Vote-By-Mail Ballot Request Information?

Only the following persons and entities under the law are entitled to access vote-by-mail request and status information obtained as part of processing such request (including from the time of the request to the return and counting of the ballot as reported:  canvassing board,  an election official,  – a political party of official thereof,  a candidate who has filed qualification papers and is opposed in an upcoming election,  registered political committees for political purposes only, and  a voter (only entitled to access his or her own vote-by-mail ballot request information).

The State requires the requester to complete an application to obtain Vote-by-mail Ballot Request Information. The request is only good for one year.

How Do I Use the Data Once I Get It?

Manipulation of the data described above requires software which is not provided by the Elections Office. Elections Office personnel can provide only very limited support for questions and problems. It is highly recommended that you consult someone with computer expertise.

Here is an example of how to use the data in Microsoft Excel and Word, although these programs may not be the best to use in all circumstances.
